Thursday Night Football Prediction

It might not be as important as it used to be, but the Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers rivalry is still as fierce as any in football. And this year, the first game between the AFC North rivals comes in week two on Thursday Night Football. This game could well end up determining the AFC North champion or at least a wild card spot. The Ravens must bounce back from their week one loss against the Bengals, while the Steelers need to prove that they are closer to their first half selves against the Browns (27-3) than their second half selves (3-24). It’s likely to be an entertaining and tough game, though, because games between these two usually are.

Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0, 0-1 against the spread) at Baltimore Ravens (0-1, 0-1):
Spread: Ravens favored by 2.5
Over/under: 44
My prediction: The Ravens are usually very good at home, so I expect them to bounce back here after a home loss against the Bengals. It’s early, but a loss here would be tough to overcome for Baltimore, who will have lost at home to their two main division rivals. Meanwhile, the Steelers were dynamic against the Browns in the first half but came back to earth in the second. Their defense is more suspect than it has been in years, and I think that comes back to bite them on the road. Ravens take this one 27-23.
