The Dodgers are down 3-1.. And I’m sticking to my guns

Before the Dodgers-Cardinals series started, I said that the Dodgers would win in seven. Now, that doesn’t look great. LA is one game away from elimination, and even worse is the fact that games six and seven (should it come to that) will be in St. Louis. But it’s not time to call this series over. The Dodgers tied with the Rangers for the best regular season road record. They also have Zach Greinke, Clayton Kershaw, and Hyun-Jin Ryu lined up for games five, six, and seven of the series. The three have dominated the Cardinals in this series, and were a combined 22-9 on the road in the regular season.

They also have arguably outplayed the Cardinals. They have been outscored by just one run in the series, and have outhit the Cardinals 31-19, a huge margin.

The notion that the Dodgers are “too immature” to come back from a 3-1 series deficit is absurd. Remember when they were being left for dead in June? Remember when they were last in the division? Well, they fought their way back from that, led by non other than Yasiel Puig, who is at the center of attention again for having too much fun.

It’s safe to say that the Cardinals have the Dodgers where they want them, and if it comes to it they’ll have their ace at home in game seven with a favorable matchup, but it’s not fair to count the Dodgers out, and I still think they could easily pull this series out.
