For their three remaining home games, the Golden State Warriors have unveiled jerseys that include short sleeves. These jerseys, will be the first to include any type of sleeve in the modern era of the NBA.

On Monday, the Warriors announced that the jerseys will make their debut on February 22, when the Warriors will take on the San Antonio Spurs. The uniforms will also be featured against Houston on March 8, and when the Warriors play against the Bulls on March 15.

Adidas, the NBA uniform provider, has said that the jerseys have, “the first-ever super lightweight stretch woven short with maximum ventilation for player comfort. The jersey includes armhole insets with 360-degree stretch fabric that facilitates free range of motion for the arms and shoulders.” According to Adidas, the new uniform is 26% lighter than a “traditional” uniform in the NBA. In addition to Golden State, Adidas has announced that they hope to expand these types of jerseys to other teams.

Harrison Barnes, a Golden State Rookie Forward, has said of the trendsetting jerseys, “I think it’s something it will take people a little bit of time to get used to, but once they do it’ll be good. As long as I’m able to shoot and move, that’s all that matters.”
