Tonight the No. 1 Ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on the No. 2 Ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. This will probably be a battle of defenses, ND has the top scoring defense allowing 10.3 points per game. and ‘Bama’s opponents have only been able to score 10.7 points per game which happens to be the second best in the entire nation. With almost identical amounts of passing yards per game and rushing yards per game, the stat that really tips the scale is the average points for per game;   Alabama has scored an average of 38.5 points per game and ND has only scored 26.8 points per game.

Manti Te’o would normally be considered an “X Factor” on defense but overall Alabama is very offensively sound which will cancel out Te’o’s vast array of skills. The tandem of T.J. Yeldon and Eddie Lacy will tire out Notre Dame’s defense. That will free up A.J. McCarron and Alabama’s passing game.

Final Score Alabam 17- Notre Dame 10

MVP: A.J. McCarron 20-29 293 Yards 2 TDs
